Testimonials

In a world full of shiny new things that grow dull or obsolete, the strongest endorsement I can give Nikki is that her stuff sticks and keeps on working over time. For the past 17 years, I have learned – and put into action – skills and knowledge that I gained through my time with Nikki in her role as a youth development trainer, entrepreneur, and coach. Through three months of weekly 1:1 coaching and 10 years of a wide variety of youth development training, I learned practical skills that I turn to time and time again because they are effective.

One question that I learned from Nikki and use often iis “What’s one thing I can do today to move my personal mission forward?” That’s the kind of challenge you can expect from Nikki. Drawing on her seemingly endless reservoir of enthusiasm, knowledge, and life experience, Nikki’s approach is to be a co-explorer of you and your goals. Nikki is an attentive and insightful listener. She makes connections from seemingly disparate topics that lead to breakthroughs and new approaches.

In my case, we navigated some ups and downs, bends and circles in order for me to clarify my short and long term goals. Drawing on the skills I learned from Nikki, I made significant strides in all areas of my life and am confident that I will move forward in an authentic and joyful manner.

Practical experience:

For our 1:1 coaching, Nikki and I met every other week in person or virtually for about 3 months. After the initial 3 months, we met monthly for an additional 3 months. I have continued to schedule sessions with Nikki on an as needed basis. The follow up to the initial intensive 3 month schedule has been very valuable. As I put skills into practice, I may have new insights or questions. I have also been able to ramp my skills up in some areas.

Format/content:

We worked together on a series of skill building modules on topics such as persuasion and influence or resilience and project management.  Nikki would give me an overview of each module and I would complete it prior to our next session. When we met, we would review the module and work together to identify ways to incorporate these skills into my life. I found the tempo of our work to be a good match for me. It wasn’t too much to add to my plate and the skills could be put into practice right away. The modules were interconnected and provided a comprehensive approach to reach my goals.

I wanted to reach out and say you might not have realised at the time but your leadership style, your personable approach and the time you gave me and all the learning I got from working alongside you all them years ago have influenced me in ways I can’t even explain. I’ve worked for my organisation for over ten years now, and tomorrow I have an interview for the deputy CEO position. I’m obviously nervous about the challenge that is potentially ahead but I also know I wouldn’t have been where I am today without taking the opportunity in Chicago and that wouldn’t have been possible without you. So thank you!
